Accessible Rooms at Macdonald Houstoun House offer the same plush amenities as our Classic Rooms with extra space for convenient wheelchair access. Located on the ground floor, these beautiful rooms feature handrails in the bathroom, reachable switches and pull-cord alarms for extra peace of mind. While our Jeremy Wares restaurant is located on the first floor of the original Tower is accessible only by stair case, alternative dinner arrangements can be made in the Vaulted bar on the ground floor.

In our 16th Century tower, you'll enjoy award-winning cuisine at our new restaurant, Jeremy Wares at Houstoun House. It's the perfect setting to enjoy a menu featuring traditional Scottish food with a modern twist.
Michelin-awarded chef Jeremy Wares is leading a team of top chefs and has brought a new twist to fine dining in the hotel restaurant with a new and exciting menu.

Jeremy, who has cooked for the late Princess Diana, President Mitterrand and Hollywood greats like Michael Caine, Liam Neeson and national treasure Joanna Lumley, has put a unique stamp on high-quality traditional Scottish cuisine in the newly refurbished restaurant.

Jeremy, who has a passion and talent for creating unique and delicious dishes, was keen to reinvent the traditional hotel's restaurant as he shares the Macdonald Hotel's ideology of providing top quality fine dining with the best of locally sourced ingredients.

Located in the historic cellars of Macdonald Houstoun House, you'll get a warm welcome in our Vaulted Bar. Its three connected rooms, with large open fireplaces, antique paintings and leather couches are a comfortable place to relax. Meet with friends and sip a refreshing drink from the bar or read the paper over afternoon tea.
