The Coniston Hotel near Skipton forms part of the Coniston Estate, which has been home to the Bannister family since the late 1960s. The estate comprises the magnificent Coniston Hall, The Coniston Hotel, Coniston Shooting Ground, Falconry Centre and much more. The 4 star hotel in Yorkshire has been both nominated and won many different industry awards over the past few years.

The Coniston Hotel is a family run hotel with a choice of 71 beautifully decorated bedrooms. All of the bedrooms have beautiful rural views – some over look the lake to the rear of the hotel. Upgrade to a Luxury Bedroom and enjoy your own balcony or patio overlooking the lake.

Macleod's Restaurant is a traditional yet elegant, bright and airy restaurant which has been popular for many years. The Macleods bar is the original bar of the hotel and was refurbished earlier this year. It is very popular with locals and guests alike. Whether it’s coffee and cake with friends, an important business lunch or a family celebration, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking sights and elegance as you walk into the exquisite new Huntsman’s Lodge.

Set in the grounds of Yorkshire's "Large Hotel of the Year", the new Spa is ideal for relaxing after a hard day exploring yorkshire. The facilities include 15m indoor swimming pool, Outdoor infinity edge vitality spa pool overlooking the lake & 8 spa treatment rooms.

All of the bedrooms are the Coniston Hotel offer the space and comfort you would expect from a quality 4 star en-suite hotel rooms. All rooms have beautiful views either of the surrounding estate or the lake to the rear of the hotel.

The bedrooms are located on 2 floors, with a lift serving the first floor rooms only. If you wish to be closer to the reception then please feel free to request this.

Disabled rooms are available as are family rooms and ‘pet friendly’ rooms – please ask when booking.

Superior Rooms
Superior rooms are based on the traditional Classic bedroom, with warm, modern and contemporary colour schemes and décor.

Luxury Rooms
Luxury rooms offer additional space and comfort with a seating area in which to relax or work. All have either a balcony or patio overlooking the lake. The bathrooms are large and have a bath and a separate walk-in shower…. Bathrobes are an added luxury.

Macleod's Restaurant is open every evening serving beautifully prepared organic and locally sourced dishes.

The A La Carte menu includes mouth-watering dishes such as Scallops Shallot purée, pancetta crumbs and Madeira jus to start, Yorkshire lamb, Dauphinoise potatoes, tomato and pepper layers with a watercress black pepper dressing and to finish off, the fine glazed apple tart with rhubarb ice cream and of course tea, coffee and the delicious handmade petit fours.

Macleods Bar
Is very popular with locals and guests alike. Serving traditional popular ales such as: Timothy Taylors best bitter and currently a guest beer, 'Golden Best' Headstones best bitter, Draught Aspall Cider, Peroni lager and chilled draught Guinness. If you enjoy a wee dram, we have a fine selection of malt whisky's.

For the smokers there is the 'hut' fully heated, with comfortable seating, lighting and a TV - probably the best in Yorkshire! - a great meeting place !

All major sporting events are covered on the TV..... so you won't need to miss that major event when you are away from home.
So whatever your reason for being in the hotel, relax by the fire and watch the world go by.

Huntsman's Lodge
It's centrepiece, a roaring open fire, draws you in before your attention turns to the glass wall, with the sun terrace looking over the 24-acre lake and far-reaching views of The Dales.

Call in from 10am in the morning until 9.30pm, the Huntsman's Lodge offers a wide range of drinks and food to suite all tastes: Morning Coffee, Lunch, Afternoon tea, Evening snacks are all served in the relaxing atmosphere every day

Nourish Brasserie
To be able to present a healthy choice for our customers we buy fresh, seasonal produce from local or nearby sources. We try our very best to make sure we are using the most sustainably sourced products with the lowest food miles in all of our drinks and food. Eating more vegetables and less meat is a good step towards a more healthy way of living and if our menu makes it easier for you to eat this way, we are happy to assist.

The menu is well balanced and we avoid or reduce dairy products, wheat, sugar, salt and red meat wherever possible. If you do have any food allergies please let us know and we will try and accommodate your request.

Nourish Brasserie is available for all spa visitors and hotel residents.

So if you are a guest in the hotel or you would like to visit the hotel just for the day they are sure to have something you will enjoy! The hotel can cater for groups, individuals and families. So if it's an exciting day out, an active weekend away, a celebration or a stag/hen party the activities can really fit the bill.

Falconry Adventures in the Yorkshire Dales
The Coniston Hotel also has one of the finest falconry centres in the north of England. The falconry centre, located in lovely countryside a short walk from the hotel, features an amazing array of eagles, owls, hawks and falcons – including a Saudi Arabian eagle called “Genghis” who can spot a rabbit from a distance of over a mile! Guests can get up close and personal with the birds in the falconry centre, learning about their amazing abilities from the friendly and knowledgeable instructors, and then enjoy the stunning views and feel the exhilaration of this hands-on experience as you fly these magnificent birds in the open countryside

Walking & Cycling activities available at The Coniston Hotel & Country Estate
The Coniston hotel can offer walking and cycling trails across the 1,400 acre estate. This is in addition to the marvellous trails to be found within minutes of the hotel in areas such as Settle, Malham and Ingleton, to name but a few.

Clay Pigeon Shooting at the Coniston
The Coniston Shooting Ground is one of the best in the country and has been awarded Premier Plus Ground status from The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association.
The magnificent Canadian lodge offers a place to warm up before and after shooting with a cafe serving hot drinks, fresh home made soup, bacon rolls, burgers, sandwiches. The centre piece open log fire sets the scene for relaxing and socialising. Whether you are a member or visiting us for an experience you will be made very welcome by Peter and his team.

Fishing
The hotel features it’s own beautiful 24-acre lake which is well stocked with fighting fit Rainbow Trout and also holds a good head of wild Brown Trout.
The fly fishing on the lake is excellent and it is an ideal location for beginners and more experienced anglers alike.
Fly fishing is usually done from one of the estate boats but at certain times of the year fly fishing from the bank can be very good.
Boats are available for the lake and tuition is available for those wishing to improve their fishing.

Fishing on the River Aire
The one mile length of the River Aire provides the river fly fisher with the opportunity for some challenging fly fishing for its wild Brown Trout, some of which are in excess of 2lbs. The River Aire has excellent hatches of fly and offers good sport to dry fly and nymph tactics.

The Coniston Hall lake and the River Aire are open for fly fishing from 1st April to 1st October inclusive

Land Rover 4x4 experience
You won’t believe what a thrill off-roading can be until you have tried the Land Rover 4x4 Experience on the estate. From steep slopes to sheer drops, through deep gulleys and rutted tracks, our enthusiastic instructors will stretch your driving skills over challenging terrain and leave you grinning from ear to ear!

The best way to see the Dales in any weather and reaching places you could perhaps only find after hiking many hours on foot. Ideal for those who enjoy comfort and warmth with a little adventure thrown in!
