The Kenmore Hotel in Kenmore by Aberfeldy, lies on the banks of the River Tay. This uniquely styled countryside hotel is famous for its warmth, charm and Highland hospitality. The Kenmore Hotel is Scotland's oldest inn and was established on the 3rd of November 1572. The conservation village of Kenmore was built around the hotel from 1760. Views from and around this hotel with character in Perthshire are spellbinding. On one side there is the River Tay and on the other a panoramic view across Loch Tay and the mountains beyond.

After spending a wonderful day exploring this stunningly beautiful part of Scotland, it is time to make your way to one of the Kenmore hotels 40 individually furnished bedrooms. The moment you slip between the cotton sheets and your head sinks into the pillow, we guarantee you will be engulfed by a deep and refreshing sleep.

At the Grill Room Restaurant you'll enjoy the very best in Scottish cuisine in peaceful, sun-lit surroundings. The Garden's outdoor patio offers great views of the Tay, and is the perfect spot to while away those long summer evenings. The Poets Bar in the Kenmore Hotel is named as such because in 1789 the famous Scots poet Robert Burns graced this bar with his presence. He was so struck by this area, that he composed a poem sitting on the bridge over the Tay. He wrote the poem in pencil on the chimney breast of the fireplace in the Poet's bar. The poem is still there to this day.

Behind the traditional façade of the Kenmore Hotel you’ll find 40 charming and individually furnished bedrooms that simply invite you to relax and unwind, with warm furnishings and luxurious linens.

And there’s no surprise that you’ll find every modern convenience in these comfortable, yet elegant rooms – from our oh so comfy beds and lovely bathrooms with luxury toiletries to wi-fi internet access.

There are another thirteen bedrooms available in the lodge, which is situated across the square, adjoining the Castle gates. The lodge is approx 30 metres from the main part of the Kenmore hotel.

The Kenmore Hotel also has 2 executive suites. The most popular suite is the Veranda Room. The Veranda room offers guests a large veranda that overlooks the River Tay and a luxurious bathroom with a Jacuzzi.

Please note that double rooms are limited at the Kenmore hotel.

Dine in the contemporary surroundings of the Grill Room restaurant and enjoy high quality locally-sourced produce, infused with ingenious touches, offering delicious dishes with unexpected flair.

The team of chef's are always busy experimenting with lots of different dishes to deliver an amazing menu, packed with the freshest meat and fish and seasonal ingredients; plus some really unusual flavour combinations which are just fantastic

The kitchen features an Inka Grill, a charcoal oven and grill of Spanish origin, guaranteeing that whatever your choice of meat, fish and vegetables, they will be grilled swiftly and perfectly – creating unrivalled flavours! The outstanding menu is matched by an extensive drinks list, featuring wines, champagnes, ports and cognacs to suit any occasion.

From Glasgow and the South: take the motorway to Stirling (M80), onwards to Perth (45 min), A9 to Ballinluig, then A827 to Aberfeldy and Kenmore.

From Edinburgh take the M90 to Perth, then follow as above from A9

From Oban and Fort William : take the A85/A82 from Fort William, to Crianlarich, then A85 to Killin, then the A827 to Kenmore

From Inverness (90 min): A9 until Ballinluig then A827 Aberfeldy & Kenmore

(Note: 02/08/16) - The Dinner allocation for all DBB inclusive rates at The Kenmore Hotel will change from £25.00 PPPN to £20.00 PPPN from this Friday 5th August 2016. All bookings made on the £25.00 dinner allowance will stand, but any new bookings going forward from Friday this will change to £20.00 PPPN. Should you choose to spend anything over this amount it will be just transferred onto your bill if you have agreed at the time of check in for charges to go to your room, alternatively you can pay the difference in the Restaurant. Should you decide not to dine or if you do not spend the full allocation, there will no refund Pets Allowed by prior arrangement - £8.00 per pet per night. Room will be allocated in the annex across from the main hotel. Superior Rooms are not available for Pets.

As well as traditional pursuits such as horse trekking, cycling, walking, Highland Adventure Safari, falconry and country and field sports, Perthshire is one of Europe’s finest adventure playgrounds boasting an unrivalled range of outdoor experiences including river canyoning, white water rafting, clay shooting, zorbing & sphering, microlight flights and cliff jumping!

For an adrenalin filled day, full and half day activities, from off-road driving to white water rafting, quad bikes and flying lessons, can be booked through the Perthshire Adventure.

The Kenmore is situated at the mouth of the River Tay, boasting 1½ miles of challenging salmon fishing for both novice and professional anglers alike on the famous Upper Tay - and is available at a very reasonable rate to non-residents throughout the season. The team at Kenmore is also happy to organise tackle and wader hire, and tuition is available for novices and experienced anglers looking to sort those wee blips, for individuals and groups.
