Gretna is situated on the border between Scotland and England and is only 9 miles north from Carlisle. Gretna is split into two Gretna Green Village and the town of Gretna. Gretna Green is more famously known as it is the Gateway to Scotland and was the Marriage Capital of the UK. The Gables Hotel is situated in Gretna which is just over the motorway bridge from Gretna Green. Gretna itself a small town and an ideal place to stop on the journey South or North.
